So lately, I have been looking into weight loss quick fixes as possible solutions to my tummy problems.
I know that this is contrary to my choice of leading a healthy lifestyle and my campaign to get other women to lead healthy lifestyles therefore I will try one of these quick fixes together with my already established healthy lifestyle of frequent exercises (four times a week) and healthy eating. I urge other women who chose to try these quick fixes, to continue with their eating plans and their exercises.
From my desk research and past experience these are the four best quick fixes available to women here in East Africa.
1. Aculaser by Swift Weight Loss Centre at Sarit Centre
Aculaser is a combination of acupuncture, laser therapy and electro-therapy. Although it is used for weight loss, it can also be used treat backaches, acne, diabetes, infections, smoking, sleeping disorders among other things.

It is so effective! I tried it a couple of years ago while in Nairobi. I lost about 3 inches off my tummy in 4 weeks and my tummy was so firm. I also got to treat my acne and it cleared. It is a bit expensive though. I remember paying about Ksh 2,800 for a consultation alone and Ksh 28,000 for 8 sessions, five years ago. So you can imagine how much it costs now. But if you can afford it, it is totally worth it!
2. Electrotherapy at Slim Therapy in South C Shopping Centre, Nairobi
I am yet to try electro-therapy alone but I hear that it is also very effective. I have looked at Slim Therapy’s website, read past clients testimonials and visited their South C branch just to get a feel of the place and whether or not they know what they are doing before trusting them with my body.
A consultation is free at Slim Therapy but what I like about this weight loss and health spa are their targeted packages. I liked that they have a package for new moms who gave birth naturally and those who had c sections. It is also very affordable, Ksh18,000 for 2 months! I would definitely give it a try when I am back in Nairobi.

3. Body Contouring at The Touch Spa and Skin Deep in Masaki, Dar es Salaam
I am also yet to try body contouring and I do not know anyone who has tried it. However, it is being offered by The Touch Spa and Skin Deep, very high end spas in Dar es Salaam.
If their body contouring services are as good as their massages then I would definitely recommend that you try them out. I plan to go to the Touch salon some time soon to try their body contouring package at $50. I will give you feedback.

4. Waist Training using Corsets
This is the in-thing in Dar right now. It involves wearing corsets which are supposedly used by Kim Kardashian. They are uncomfortably tight and you have to struggle to get them on. However, the effect, as shown by Mange Kimambi, a Tanzanian blogger and socialite living in the U.S, is awesome! The tummy is squeezed in so tight by the corset that you get a perfect figure 8 silhouette. The claim is that over time, your waist can shrink. Apparently, it also reduces the amount of food you eat because the tummy is usually squeezed in so tight.

The corsets go for $100 on Hollywood Shopaholics and you have to order them way in advance. I would try it but I don’t particularly like corsets and spanks.
There you have it four quick fixes that you can look into and add on to your healthy diet and exercise.
